Farley, 7, loses help in cutbacks

May 2012
Evening Standard;5/24/2012, p34
SEVEN-year-old Farley Staines will no longer get help from a specialist teacher because of the cuts. He lost some of his hearing after having 18 months of chemotherapy for liver cancer. Teachers at St John the Baptist Junior School in Hampton Wick use a special microphone when teaching him, but his mother Nicola said Farley will not get visits by a teacher for the deaf. She also fears he will lose the specialist sound system.
