Specialty crops supported in farm bill

The article reports that the Specialty Crop Farm Bill Alliance has commended several U.S. senators for advancing the Agriculture Reform, Food and Jobs Act of 2012. The Alliance has worked with several policymakers and industry members to get support for several programs aimed at the fresh fruit and vegetable industry. The proposed Farm Bill contains key specialty crop industry priorities supported by the Alliance, including research, pest and disease mitigation, trade and nutrition.
