California ships 98 million boxes of grapes in 2011

The article reports that during the 2011 season, over 98 million boxes of fresh California grapes were shipped by California. The fresh grape season in California starts in May and the state produces 99 percent of the commercial fresh grapes grown in the U.S. According to Kathleen Nave, president of the California Table Grape Commission, the California table grape industry has experienced significant growth over the past 40 years. Campaigns for California table grapes will be launched in May.
