ABSTRACT
The article discusses the collective efforts by western cotton organizations to put an absolute stop to the pink bollworm (PBW) infestation in the U.S. It cites the use of insect proof cotton varieties and sterile moth technology to eradicate the cotton-infesting insect. According to Arizona Cotton Research and Protection Council director Leighton Liesner, the two marker system aims to yield improved PBW diagnostic precision.
