ABSTRACT
The article reports on the new view of Republicans that their U.S. presidential candidate Mitt Romney might well win the presidency in the November 2012 elections. It states that the new view was caused by margin-of-error polling, conservative consolidation around Romney and the still-sluggish U.S. economy. Mississippi Governor Haley Barbour says that Romney's closeness in the presidential race has surprised and encouraged him.
