ABSTRACT
The article focuses on no less than 36 engineering courses offered in eight prisons in New Zealand. It says that the Corrections Inmate Employment program could be one of the world's most comprehensive prison technical education programs with on-the-job training and work release. It also discusses prisoners' lack of secondary education and training which incorporates both engineering theory and apprenticeships.
