The article discusses the use of pyrometers in applications like melting, casting and sintering where the need for accurate and precise thermometry is crucial. It has been informed that the most inexpensive and accurate temperature-measurement method is direct-contact measurement, but challenges associated wish it compels manufacturers to offer noncontact optical pyrometers.
