ABSTRACT
Studies on batch grinding characteristics of raw coal using ball mill is undertaken. Feed size, grinding media size, weight of grinding media and time of milling are the parameters which are studied. Surface area generated due to grinding is increased by increasing size and weight of grinding media and decreased with increase in feed change. The study is useful in predicting specific surface area, energy consumption etc. The data can be used for optimizing grinding rate with various parameters studied in the present study. A correlation is developed between grinding rate factor with the various parameters. …
