ABSTRACT
The article presents morphometric analysis of subwatershed with the use of geographic information systems (GIS) in Ponnaiyar River basin, India in 2011. The elongation ratio of miniwatersheds differs from 0.23 to 0.58, indicating miniwatersheds fall under elongated and oval pattern. The study has been classified into poorly suitable, moderately suitable and highly suitable for groundwater prospects based on the quantitative morphometric analysis.
