ABSTRACT
The article discusses the use of a transistor as a heater in a biological laboratory. It states that the heat dissipated from a power transistor can be safely used in maintaining the temperature of samples in small-sized cuvettes. It also mentions other applications for a control circuit presented including linear control, pulse-width modulation, and a proportional-integral-derivative (PID) controller.
