ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the laws intended for the protection and conservation of natural resources in Alberta. One of them is the Alberta Land Stewardship Act (ALSA) which was developed to protect the agricultural or environmental value of land through conservation directives. Another is the Energy Resources Conservation Act; Natural Resources Conservation Act which requires a public interest test for natural resource projects to determine their social, economic, and environmental impacts.
