ABSTRACT
The article reports on the launch of a marketing campaign by Citigroup Inc. in March 2012 to celebrate its 200th anniversary in June. It says that the campaign highlights the significant role played by the company in international banking industry. However, it notes that Citigroup failed to mention in the advertisement its near-bankruptcy experience during the global financial crisis and the help that it received from the government.
