ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the public housing programs and the support from federal government of the U.S. in the form of annual contribution contracts (ACCs). It emphasized the need to bring a change in the administration of public housing by encouraging investment from the private sector. It presents information on the Choice Neighborhoods Initiative of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), which helps to transform distressed neighborhoods into viable income neighborhoods.
