ABSTRACT
The article presents a non-randomized clinical study which aims at determining the impact of early intervention by hospital emergency department (ED) on the admission rates in older people. The study was conducted on two groups of patients in two hospital EDs in Australia, one receiving early allied health service and other who did not receive allied health assessment. It shows that early allied health intervention in ED played a significant role on admission rates of older patients.
