In 3rd-degree burn treatment, hydrogel helps grow new, scar-free skin

The article informs that researchers from the Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, Maryland have developed a jelly-like material and wound treatment method on skin damaged by severe burns. The treatment is not yet tested on humans but it is expected that it will promote the formation of new blood vessels and skin. The treatment involved a simple wound dressing that included a specially designed hydrogel, a water-based, 3-dimensional framework of polymers.
