ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the integration of conveyors in manufacturing plant, particularly at the Conveyor Engineering and Manufacturing plant in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. According to Hytrol Conveyor Co. Inc. director of system development Mitch Johnson, conveyors are the material handling backbone in manufacturing. It discusses the study by Manufacturing Enterprise Solution Association (MESA) International, which revealed that safety and product quality were important responses in buying conveyors.
