ABSTRACT
The article presents information on a final rule issued by the U.S. Pension Benefit Guaranty Corp. regarding amendment of its regulation related to benefits payable in case of terminated single employer plans. The final rule has been issued in accordance with the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 of the U.S. It states that interest assumptions are used for paying benefits by the pension insurance system. This final rule will be effective by May 1, 2012.
