ABSTRACT
The article reports on a direct final rule issued by the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) of the U.S. Department of Transportation regarding removal of category IIIa, IIIb, and IIIc operations. This step has been taken as these categories are outdated and no longer used during aircraft certification and operation authorization. This final rule will be effective by June 12, 2012 and the FAA is soliciting public comments by May 14, 2012 via electronic mail or in writings.
