ABSTRACT
The article focuses on expected increases in the price for acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) for Europe and North America. It states the price increases are expected despite projections by the Chinese government that its gross domestic product could drop below 7.5 percent in 2012. It mentions that acrylonitrile supply in Europe is tight due to propylene feedstock issues when Anglo-Dutch Shell Chemicals declared force majeure on its propylene supplies from its site in Noerdijk, Netherlands.
