ABSTRACT
The article reports on a wave of coal-to-olefins plans in China. It is said that China's deficit in ethylene supply, relative to demand, could be solved by a wave of coal-to-olefins plans. According to the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Association (CPCIA), the country's ethylene self-sufficiency rate is only expected to rise from 56% in 2010 to 62% by 2020.
