ABSTRACT
The article provides information on gonorrhea and its causes, symptoms, complications and risks. It describes gonorrhea as a sexually transmitted disease (STD) which is caused by Neisseria gonorrhoeae. It is estimated by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) that more than 700,000 persons are infected with gonorrhea annually in the U.S. It claims that the failure to treat the disease will result in serious health problems.
