ABSTRACT
The article focuses on a research conducted in order to identify the effects of alteration of forest structure on the distribution of scale insect, Stigmacoccus garmilleri (S. garmilleri). It discusses the occurrence of S. garmilleri as an ecologically important honeydew-producing scale insect in highland forests of Veracruz, Mexico. The study revealed an increase in scale insect infestation of trees with forest disturbance.
