ABSTRACT
The article discusses the sustainable library practices and trends of selected academic libraries in Metro Manila, Philippines. It says that sustainable library practices are defined as measures employed by the library personnel with the aim of decreasing the resources consumption of the unit and reducing its waste output. Valerio Mendoza of Save the La Mesa Dam Project says that waste segregation, recycling and efficient lighting should be included in the environmental policy for greening in the library. It explores several environmental management policies and programs for the library including records retention and disposition schedule (RRDS). It also discusses the role of the academic librarians in the green movement.
