ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the perceptions of graduates 1997-2011 of the School of Library and Information Studies (SLIS) of the University of the Philippines (UP) regarding the relevance and sufficiency of Bachelor in Library and Information Science (BLIS). It mentions that graduates were also asked regarding the need to create an alumni support community. It says that all graduates of UP SLIS from were automatically became members of UP Library Science Alumni Association (UPLSAA) which is an affiliated chapter of UP Alumni Association (UPAA). According to the study, most respondents believe that the major subjects of BLIS are very relevant such as field assignment and practicum and it is sufficient. It adds that alumni wanted UP to create a support community.
