The article reports that ABB Ltd. of Zurich, Switzerland, has acquired Thomas & Betts Corp. for 3.9 billion dollars. It states that the combination of electrical components from Thomas & Betts, and low-voltage protection, control and measurement products from ABB will create a broader low-voltage portfolio. It mentions that the enhanced distribution network will double the addressable market of ABB in North America to 24 billion dollars.
