ABSTRACT
The article discusses the condition of the global handset market, in which major handset manufacturers are most likely to change their focus from high income (HI) developed economies to lower middle income (LMI) developing economies. Also, manufacturers consider to reduce price points for mass-market phones, but at the same time increases the number of features in low-cost handsets. Moreover, the trend of higher demand of mobile phones warrants growth of mobile telephony in LMI countries.
