ABSTRACT
The article reports on the energy-efficient building systems and lighting design of Housing, Dining and Hospitality Administration building at University of California, San Diego (UCSD). It notes that the UCSD is expected to save over 19,000 dollars annually with the elegant panels designed for savings and to mitigate intense solar heat gain and the use of T5HO lamps as well as daylight dimming. It states that the building is part of San Diego Gas & Electric Co.'s Savings by Design program.
