ABSTRACT

In the article, the author discusses the political rhetorics that experts and bloggers could get from the mass shooting incident in Tucson, Arizona in early January 2011. It cites as example the claim by Middlebury College sociologist David Stoll that some of the harrowing experiences of award-winning author Rigoberta Menchu in the Guatemalan civil war were the product of her imagination. The opinions of such individuals as Peter Daou, Scott Lemieux and Paul Krugman are also cited.
