ABSTRACT
The article reports on an increase in factory shipments of major appliances in December 2011. Wholesale figures from the Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers (AHAM) show that the gains during the month helped improve 2011 shipment totals. Chest-style freezers, room air conditioners, and trash compactors were among the most-shipped appliances in December 2011. The gas oven category is named as the softest category for December 2011.
