ABSTRACT
The article presents the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats (SWOT) analysis for the United State's power market. Data show the competitiveness of the power market of the country in 2011. It notes the decreased in demand for electricity in the country. It is expected that its natural gas will be preferred as fuel for thermal power plants due to stable capital costs and low natural gas prices.
