ABSTRACT
The article presents a statement by U.S. President Barack Obama on December 22, 2011 on congressional action on payroll tax cut and unemployment insurance legislation. President Obama congratulates Members of Congress for ending the partisan stalemate by reaching an agreement. He adds that through the agreement, every U.S. citizen will keep his or her tax cut, about 1,000 U.S. dollars for the average family.
