ABSTRACT
The article looks at a report by the U.S. National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) and the NAACP Legal Defense Fund, entitled "Defending Democracy." The report suggests that several 2011 state restrictions on voting eligibility and procedures are specifically intended to reduce the voting capacity among people of color, the poor, the elderly, and students, following the 2008 U.S. presidential elections.
