ABSTRACT
The article looks at a report by the U.S. National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) and the NAACP Legal Defense Fund, entitled "Defending Democracy," which suggests that wealthy conservatives are involved in a coordinated effort to suppress the voting rights of African Americans and Latinos. According to the author, these efforts include proposals to reduce or eliminate early and absentee voting, to require photo identification, and to eliminate suffrage for felons.
