ABSTRACT
The article presents a research study which investigates the effectiveness of Pseudomonas (P.) aeruginosa in degrading Tetramethylthiuram Disulfide (TMTD) in contaminated soil. The study has isolated the P. aeruginosa active in TMTD degradation through adaptation and enrichment with the use of TMTD as sole carbon source. Results show that chemical analysis of plants has revealed the effectiveness of P. aeruginosa in reducing the hazardous effect of TMTD on Rhizobium-legume symbiosis.
