ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the development of fusion centers by U.S. law enforcement agencies to improve government security. It says that some 72 fusion centers allow the Office of Intelligence and Analysis (I&A) to match data from federal, local and tribal levels to track local criminal activities that may be involved in terrorist organizations. It adds fusion centers generate information-sharing efficiencies that did not exist prior to the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.
