It notes the October 1981 international symposium hosted by the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago and the Rehabilitation Gazette, which became Post-Polio Health International, held in Chicago, Illinois to tackle about polio patients. Also, it offers the history of the creation of the Rehabilitation Gazette which was founded by Gini Laurie.
