Use of Newer Assays for Syphilis

The article focuses on the study which explores the development of immunoassays for syphilis testing in North America. Two treponemal-specific assays are outlined which include the enzyme immunoassay (EIA) and the chemiluminescence immunoassay (CIA). The difficulties in utilizing the diagnostic tests for patients with HIV/AIDS are highlighted.
