ABSTRACT
The article reports on the study conducted by scientists at the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) which examines the safety of beef trim being exported in the country, which comes from Australia, New Zealand and Uruguay. The researchers monitors contminants including Staphylococcus aureus, Campylobacter, Salmonella and Escherichia coli. It states that results have indicated that pathogen-monitoring procedures used in the country are adequate for evaluating the safety of imported beef trim.
