ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the possible effects of the immigration policy on the U.S. agriculture and the market for hired farm labor. It states tighter immigration controls have resulted in decrease in the output of labor-intensive agricultural sectors and a three percent relative increase in the earnings levels of U.S. born and authorized, foreign-born farmworkers. It states advances in labor-saving technologies might help agricultural employers adjust to increased immigration restrictions.
