ABSTRACT
The objectives of the present study were: (1) to measure the amount of malondialdehyde (MDA) and conjugated dienes (CD); (2) to determine the antioxidative capacity of the superoxide dismutase enzyme (SOD); and (3) to detect the presence of OD in mature and regressive corpu luteum (CL) in cattle. Measurement ofMDA and CD were performed in 30 L homogeniz d in tris- saccharose buffer (250 mM pH 7.2) at 4°C to obtain the supernatant. TBAR method was used to determine MDA and isopropanol extraction to analyze CD. Calbiochem kit wa used to quantify SOD activity from 26 CL. Indirect immunefluorescence (IFI) was used to detect CuZn- SOD presence from 133 CL slides. tatistical differences were determine by the t- test (p<0.05) and IFI results were descr ibed ba ed on freque ncy of immunefluore - cence (high, medium, and low). Means ofMDA were 25.94±2.68 and 6.65±0.87 MDA/mg of protein in mature and regressive CL, respectively (p
