ABSTRACT
The article offers information on the cathodic or cationic electrodeposition (ED) of coatings developed to provide better corrosion protection with low volatile organic emissions in the U.S. It states that cathodic ED coatings deposit positively-charged polymers with pigment particles and additives into negatively-charged objects that provide sufficient corrosion and chemical resistance. However, these ED coatings have problems on the basic film cure and the acidic bath solutions corrosivity.
