ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the advantages and disadvantages of statins for treatment of acute cerebrovascular ischemic events. A meta-analysis of studies that compared statins in patients who suffered acute ischemic stroke or transient ischemic attack (TIA) with placebo or not treatment is included. The results show that both control and placebo groups did not differ for all-case mortality, adverse drug effecs, bleeding or infections.
