ABSTRACT
The article presents a study which examined whether adding short-term androgen-deprivation therapy (ADT) to radiotherapy (RDT) improves survival of patients with prostate cancer. It was found that acute and late hepatic toxic effects occurred in 29 percent and 6 percent of ADT plus radiotherapy (RT) patients, respectively. The study concluded that adding short-term ADT to RT improved survival of prostate cancer patients but increased short-term adverse events.
