ABSTRACT
The article discusses a study on whether vitamin D reduces mortality in adults. The analysis showed that vitamin D reduced all-cause mortality more than placebo or no intervention. Active forms of vitamin D increased risk for hypercalcemia and cholecalciferol plus calcium increased risk for nephrolithiasis more than placebo or no intervention. The study concluded that compared to placebo or no treatment, cholecalciferol reduces mortality in adults more.
