ABSTRACT
The article discusses the highlights of the American Federation of Teachers (AFT)'s Civil, Human and Women's Rights Conference held October 28-30,2011. Sessions focused on harnessing community engagement among internal and external allies in the fight for equality and justice. A rally was held against a right of work bill that cuts jobs and lowers wages. Other agenda items were immigration reform, school bullying and reauthorization of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA).
