ABSTRACT
A clinical study is conducted to investigate the association of atrial fibrillation (AF) with increased risk for mortality in patients hospitalized with a first myocardial infarction (MI). Prognostic factors examined include atrial flutter, age, sex, and heart failure. It is found that previous or new-onset atrial fibrillation (AF) was associated with increased risk for mortality in these kind of patients.
