ABSTRACT
The article presents the author's insights on the importance of basic scales in financial planning. The author relates his experiences as a planner and notes the role of budgeting and communication skills in providing good services to their clients. He considers budgeting as a complex scale due to contentious and challenging goals in money spending and cash flow. He mentions the use of web-based tool Mint.com and First Step Cash Management program in achieving clients' desired financial plans. Moreover, the author stresses various listening techniques to develop planners' communication skills.
