ABSTRACT
The article discusses the importance of option and purchase agreements in the film and television industry which is the first step for an individual either acquiring or selling rights in a project for further development. Without clear agreements, a producer acquires the risk of investing time and money in a project with no clarity with regards to project rights acquisition and pricing. One issue with these agreements is that situations can arise which can put pressure on their effectiveness.
