ABSTRACT
The article examines the manner by which KKR is funding the buyout of Samson Investment Co. through an asset-based loan paired with bridge-to-high yield bond facility. It notes that the financing strategy has been used during the height of buyouts and is now making a return. The author also elaborates on the instance where a pairing of the asset-based loan with the term loan or high yield bond to finance an acquisition would be suitable.
