ABSTRACT
The article reports that General Electric Co. (GE) has developed a new monitoring technology to deal with compressor fouling, one of the most common problems for ethylene manufacturers. GE's new 'sense-diagnose-remediate' system uses fibre-optic sensors to monitor foulant build-up on charge gas compressors used on ethylene manufacturing lines.
